{"id":33419,"date":"2021-09-15T13:47:17","date_gmt":"2021-09-15T13:47:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tidop.usal.es\/a-unique-wind-tunnel-in-spain\/"},"modified":"2024-09-09T10:52:15","modified_gmt":"2024-09-09T08:52:15","slug":"a-unique-wind-tunnel-in-spain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tidop.usal.es\/en\/a-unique-wind-tunnel-in-spain\/","title":{"rendered":"A unique wind tunnel in Spain"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>The University of Salamanca (USAL) has on its \u00c1vila campus a unique wind tunnel in Spain, due to its size, thanks to the agreement reached with the Avila company Vortex, specialized in bladeless wind turbines.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tidop.usal.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Vortex1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-44302\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Wind tunnel installed in the Higher Polytechnic School of \u00c1vila<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On September 14, at the Higher Polytechnic School of \u00c1vila, the rector of the University of Salamanca Ricardo Rivero, presented the Wind Tunnel installed in the building for academic and research purposes.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery aligncenter has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"44303\" src=\"https:\/\/tidop.usal.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Vortex2-1024x574.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-44303\"\/><\/figure>\n<figcaption class=\"blocks-gallery-caption wp-element-caption\"><br><em>The rector Ricardo Rivero together with the vice-rector for Research and Transfer, Jos\u00e9 Miguel Mateos Roco; the director of the EPS of \u00c1vila, Luis Santiago S\u00e1nchez P\u00e9rez; the co-founder and CTO of the company Vortex, David Y\u00e1\u00f1ez Villareal; and Diego Gonz\u00e1lez Aguilera, professor of Cartographic, Geodetic and Photogrammetry Engineering at the University of Salamanca and director of the TIDOP Group, at the presentation to the media.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initiative is one of the results of the active collaboration that the research group &#8220;Information Technologies for the Intelligent Digitization of Objects and Processes&#8221; (TIDOP) and the technology company Vortex have maintained in recent years.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The wind tunnel, which has a height of 3.30 meters high, 1.6 wide and a wind speed of 14 meters per second (50 kilometers per hour), has a wind turbine without blades and two fans.
