During the months of July, August, and September, the TIDOP Research Group at the University of Salamanca collaborated with Neri Edgardo Güidi, a PhD candidate in Structural Engineering, Architecture, and Cultural Heritage at the University of Salerno (UNISA), Italy.
An Information Systems Engineer from the National Technological University (Delta Regional Faculty, Argentina), Güidi conducts doctoral research on the application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to photogrammetry, multimodal image fusion, and the processing of IoT sensor data for continuous monitoring.
In 2025, he undertook a research stay at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), where he worked on Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) using low-cost sensors and AI and machine learning models, including LSTM networks and GANs.
During his/her time at TIDOP, he/she has sought to share his/her experience and knowledge while simultaneously exploring new synergies with the group’s research lines—particularly those involving the integration of LLMs, NeRF, and 3D Gaussian Splatting for the generation and advanced analysis of 3D models and point clouds.
At TIDOP, we appreciate your collaboration and hope that this visit contributes to establishing new avenues for exchange and future collaborations in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, sensor technology, and 3D technologies.
