The TIDOP research group has received a new project from the Iberdrola Foundation’s Aid to Research in Energy and the Environment.
The project “New Tool for Assessing the Feasibility of Municipal Photovoltaic Self-consumption” will start in September 2020, will have a duration of 12 months and an allocated budget of €19,775. The objective of the project is the analysis of the viability of solar self-consumption for municipal services of public lighting and urban transport, with a view to decarbonising municipal consumption, promoting self-consumption and optimizing urban mobility in coordination with safety on the move. To this end, we intend to develop a GIS-3D (Geographic Information System) based consumption and resource management tool, , which will be used to develop and evaluate strategies for the location of solar photovoltaic installations and recharging points.
