3D technology has become essential in fields such as medicine and cinema, and for some years now it has also been important in the visualisation of architectural scenarios. The Tidop research group at the University of Salamanca is working with this type of technology. This group of researchers, in collaboration with the 3DOM research group belonging to the FBK research institute in Trento, organised an international conference at the E.P.S. in Ávila to address the reconstruction and 3D visualisation of complex architectural spaces, in which experts from more than twenty countries participated. The event included numerous presentations, poster exhibitions and “demo” sessions, which are an important innovation in this type of event, allowing attendees to participate in the sessions and interact with the different technologies presented. For their part, members of the Tidop research group have contributed numerous technological advances reflected in a total of five presentations on very diverse issues.
