DEVELOPMENT OF AN INTELLIGENT MOTOR OF WIND PREDICTOR
Financed by: FEDER/Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades – Agencia Estatal de Investigación/ Ref: RTC-2017-6635-3
MOTIVATION
The participants in the daily electricity market present to the Market Operator (OMIE) their energy orders or sale offers. Here, with one day in advance, the energy to be exchanged and its price are agreed. Likewise, the daily market is a place for adjustments of deviations in generation or in demand which may occur after the Final Viable Daily Program has been set, with a frequency of 4 hours. These are the markets in which the energy production and the price of each one of the participants are fixed.
Given the configuration of the purchase and sale of energy in Spain, there are several procedures of economic punishment for those participants who incur deviations from the final real production. In this way, it is desirable that the estimated production offers, which are submitted to the daily markets, are as tight as possible.
GENERAL VISION
MINPRE project aims to develop a technological solution to predict, with the least possible deviation, the production of energy from wind farms. The main objective of this tool is to optimize the offer presented to the daily and intra-day electricity markets. It is expected that there will be an improvement in the performance of the facilities. Thus, the possible penalties, which could be incurred due to deviations between supply and production, will be reduced.
PARTICIPANTS
The main participants of this Project are UNATEC, CENER (National Center of Renewable Energies) and the TIDOP Research Group from USAL (University of Salamanca).
